afternoon | A Poem by Rick Davis | PAROUSIA Magazine

quiet blends with the sounds of the frig and hesitant rain drops sliding down smudged windows blackie, the timid feral cat visits, and I give her food in grey rain. i close my eyes and notice my expanding consciousness streaming in silver light touching God.     Rick Davis lives in the Chicago area, USA.  He is married to Marianne. Dreaming of Eden | A Poem by Rick Davis | PAROUSIA Magazine

Falling asleep softly I watch fresh new leaves On the twigs of trees. An owl is perched on the Bony branch above. The sun sets And whirling waters flow From the crystal clear brook. Lying on the thick blue-green wild grass I watch stars Breathing in Eden’s millionth star And my heart laughs Watching the sailing light of clouds. Ascending seabirds fly And the cooling breeze Plays secret celestial music – Great is the earth Delivering Divine words As I notice delicate blue blossoms On a sleepy winding tree.     Rick Davis lives in the Chicago area, USA.  He … Continue reading Dreaming of Eden | A Poem by Rick Davis | PAROUSIA Magazine

street person | A Poem by Rick Davis | PAROUSIA Magazine

she walks smoothly so fragile in her loneliness and as she smiles it is as though all the winds go to heaven. she speaks to air – i imagine in some distant kitchen wrapped in abandoned teardrops. her bright pink dress is covered in wooden clothespins. she slides on damp cement – fluid melodic. she is in Christ — the strongest image of the city.     Rick Davis lives in the Chicago area, USA.  He is married to Marianne. walking in rain | A Poem by Rick Davis | PAROUSIA Magazine

the wind is quiet in trees. a sixth sense guides me. a rustle of wings and a tangle of vines and leaves. hipsters with spiritual anorexia block crumbling sidewalks. i am tuned to the earth’s music and voiceless ground. fantasies like glass bubble to consciousness. small sharp rocks. colors are like vibrant crayons. perfectly wet grass.     Rick Davis lives in the Chicago area, USA.  He is married to Marianne. MINDFULNESS | A Poem by Rick Davis | PAROUSIA Magazine

Quieting My thoughts I observe An abundant river. The past And future Are persistent myths Sinking in sand While I eclipse God of the orchard Where peace and justice Sing like birds. My soul is a map Hiding beneath mind. Mind is a Storm simulation Of thick clouds Emptying On the tongues Of angels Whispering Deepening green, All, In a single gaze.   Rick Davis lives in the Chicago area, USA.  He is married to Marianne. hazy memory from age 3 | A Poem by Rick Davis | PAROUSIA Magazine

a lady in mink dripping in gold with plasticity of the soul hands a haunted street person a folded bill. maple branches sway as a teenage girl with a short skirt and compliant hips smiles at me. distant windless hills. sadness is drowned by the earth. perfection.   Rick Davis lives in the Chicago area, USA.  He is married to Marianne. TRANSFORMATION | A Poem by Rick Davis | PAROUSIA Magazine

I lived in mud. Then, I met you and began To walk through reclining forests And aside melodic mountains And today, despite challenges Life is as tranquil As late summer fireflies. I was a broken fish, Who, upon finding you, Found that I could stand and laugh No longer so self-absorbed And ignoring the angst Of needy tired souls. This afternoon I watch a cardinal flutter From tree to tree Beginning to sing with him In Zen peace. I trace a loving outline of you In my expanding mind. Your car pulls into the garage. The dog barks. You … Continue reading TRANSFORMATION | A Poem by Rick Davis | PAROUSIA Magazine

morning: | A Poem by Rick Davis | PAROUSIA Magazine

i awake from a cloudy dream of dark leaf horses running with wild bronze manes. i slide open the bedroom drapes as a sweet design unfolds as I watch playful birds – imagining that they are flying towards an eastern garden-home. on the black-brown electrical wire a robin is bathed in cool misty wind. a season of light.     Rick Davis lives in the Chicago area, USA.  He is married to Marianne. my idealism: | A Poem by Rick Davis | PAROUSIA Magazine

my idealism: my idealism is like bare feet in summer grass and blossoms that drift like stars resisting water-hazards of apathy. my idealism is like city lights that speckle wet streets with vibrant paint. stuck in right-wing mud my nights grow sleeplessly long, but with loving-kindness moonlight seeps through dancing clouds.   Rick Davis lives in the Chicago area, USA.  He is married to Marianne.
