Pray to Jesus – A Poem from Ujjal Mandal – PAROUSIA Magazine

Pray to Jesus
O Jesus, wake us up
From the shell of darkness.
An apple tree stoops to the ground
When many succulent apples
Decorate the tree with their skins
Of red, green, yellow and pink.
O Jesus, make us like the apple trees.
When spring leaves the tree, she stands
With bare jewellery looking at the skies
Straight. She never bows her head down.
O Jesus, do not let us be like this arrogant tree.
O Jesus, wake us up
From the shell of numbness.
