Welcoome feast

 Welcome Feast

for Pip, 1957 to October 2019

Welcome to the feast!
exclaims chef exceptional,
recipes and meals at the ready,
opening wide his door.
Come sit, have a seat
at the table

A delicious meal spread
before us
chicken to melt
on your tongue
you tenderly weep
fish so delicate,
plates are held out
to ask for more

Food, wine, hospitality
stories flow with his smile
quirked up sideways
inviting all to share in the
subtle sparkle of his words
over the candle of human nature,
a good host, this chef

The Chef of creation
even in the midst of life
holds a seat at his Table
to receive a good man
and welcome him to the feast.
Dine well, my friend.

    Especially loved these lines…

    “The Chef of creation
even in the midst of life
holds a seat at his Table
    to receive a good man
and welcome him to the feast.
    Dine well, my friend.”
