Greetings my dearly beloved brother. This morning’s message was requested by my dear, United Methodist Church sister in the Philippines, Conchita Jamison. Please pray for the residents there. Recently they experienced a volcano, which affected the lives of the people with volcanic lava, mud, aches, and disruption of lives in many ways. Please pray for their recovery.
Our subject today is regarding “Prayer Compliment.” Merriam-Webster Dictionary define prayer as: a petition to God in words or thoughts; a set of earnest words, requests or wish. It also defines compliment as: to express praise, approval, respect, or admiration. Two or more parts coming together to make a better whole. An act which boosts one’s morale. Formal act or an expression of civility, respect, good wishes, or regard. Combining both we have: a petition to God with respect and admiration, coming together with God, thus, making a united whole.
The Bible states, “We serve God through prayers” (Luke 2: 36-38). “We glorify and praise Him for all He has done” (1 Thessalonians 5:18). It also helps us to overcome, such as Jesus telling Peter to pray for strength in overcoming temptation (Matthew 26:41). Here we see that every conceivable spiritual blessing is obtained from complimentary prayer through God’s omnipotent grace. Prayer is the conduit and modality which brings unto us the blessings God provides.
On Sunday, September 22, 2019, we discussed the acronym “TRIP.” It starts with thanksgiving to God. We offer Thanksgiving (T) to God for His blessings, and uplifting Him in truth and faith by strengthening our resolve in Him. We offer Repentance (R) unto Him for any sins committed, known and unknown, in spirit and in truth. Intercession (I) for worldwide humanity to be strengthen, and grasp His power in all endeavors (Ephesians 3:17-18), and personal Petition (P) for spiritual needs in faith and truth. Nothing temporal, since such are like the chaff which the wind blows away. By spiritual petitions, God says everything shall be given unto you. Luke 17:6, compares faith to the size of a mustard seed, where one may say to a mountain move and nothing will be impossible (Matthew 17:20). The “TRIP” acronym is easy to follow and keeps the mind on track when we offer complimentary prayer.
God knows what’s on our tongue even before they are spoken (Psalm 139: 1-4). Therefore, we must be penitent when we approach Him in grace and prayer. Having faith in our prayers, we shall receive what we asked for (Mark 11:24). No one can stand against those who know how to pray and meet the conditions of complimentary prayer with God.
Therefore, do not neglect to mention His name in prayers with sincerity. I pray you will stay with God (Exodus 14:14). He will guide and strengthen you day by day (Nehemiah 8:10). He is the potter and we are the clay (Isaiah 64:8). Therefore, from the creator, please don’t stray (Proverb 18:10). I pray you will stay in His care and your burdens He will bear (1 Peter 5: 6-7). Take a walk in the open air, feel his presence, don’t just sit at home in a chair, He is everywhere (Psalm 139:7-12). The both of you were meant to be a pair. Do not despair, He will handle your affairs (2 Timothy 1:7).
May His perpetual light continue to shine upon you, your family members and loved one from generation to generation. Break the shackles of oppression and walk free in His grace, and love with the rendering of complimentary prayer in His name.
Have an awesome day, don’t forget to pray without ceasing, stay encouraged, be strong, inspired, ingenious, resilient, and blessed always with the peace of the Lord in your heart!
