Born Again
At the time the earth’s sweetness turned sour
And every fountain gave bitter drink
At the time the land was drained and desolate
And all things in total jumble fell
At that time, He came
The stable was a royal palace
Where dignitaries paid homage
God’s glory surpassed stable stench
The bliss suppressed circumstance blues
For the earth received her King
And power of darkness no more shall prevail
He’s also born this day
But never again of Virgin Mary
Not in the stable
Nor by the company of the looking animals
The stable is a miserable place
To host the owner of earth and its richness, the second time
The king is born again
But never by the sermon of a lay preacher
Every street and corner glow in colours
Melodies of His birth overwhelm the air
Splendidly and sublimely
He’s born
Now, in the royal palace of my poor heart.
