Walking the neighborhood
I am struck by the dishonest wind of sleeping embers
in the eyes of fragmented souls.

In my imagination urban speed is
replaced by sugarcane stalks bending in breeze
and deer emerging from shadows,

and my steps whirl to music in sunlight –
a soundtrack for my dreams.

Behind it all is creative Love

which is a nightlight for the world.
