GOD’S MIGHTY ARM
Bible-Poem By Reinhard Bonnke
1.
Peter denied Jesus thrice, held back the truth, was telling lies.
Every question, coming like a shot, Peter gravely had denied his God.
With his head against a fence, devastated, he did wrench.
Tears flowing down his shaggy beard, the worst scenario he had feared.
Christ quietly did look at him, and his melt-down did begin.
Refrain:
O Lord, I need your arm around my shoulder
Instead of failing you, please make me bolder.
Not run away and cry, but faithful till I die.
I love you to the end, forever I on you depend.
2.
When John found Peter traumatized by failure and remorse,
He put his arm around his shoulder and took him to his house.
Peter had big plans to fight and even die for Christ alright;
But he had failed the first real test, becoming utterly depressed.
His Lord he had denied; then Jesus went, for sinners to be crucified.
3.
Jesus at the Cross, man’s clenched fist in His very face,
Yet His stunning act of love turned evil into grace.
Christ died for His killers, shed His blood for the spillers.
The Cross of hate became the logo of God’s love.
Turn now and see, His arm is reaching from above.
